Special Olympics photos

Last week we hosted a local group of Special Olympians. We had a BLAST with them! Thank you so much to Mark Wise from Delaware Special Olympics for bringing them down!

Route 1 Rivalry - a day later

The outcome wasn't exactly what we were hoping for, but it was good to finally see our girls play live and interact with them a little more in an informal setting.  I can't wait for our home opener and to hopefully travel more during conference play.

Big thanks to those who came up to Newark to support the Hornets - a lot of familiar faces in the crowd, including members of the bowling team.  There were also a few parents of current and former players in attendance.

I took some photos last night, but they turned out somewhat grainy.  The gym lighting wasn't very conducive to producing good photos.

Hurricane Irene - Sonya Inderbitzin

From sophomore Sonya Inderbitzin:

After we found out on Friday afternoon that our tournament at William and Mary was cancelled, I was very disappointed. I was ready to beat my sister's Alma Mater in Bucknell University, but unfortunately hurricane Irene had interrupted our plans. Dover was not hit very hard by the hurricane with only strong winds and lots of rain, although many other places were not as lucky. Hopefully we will use this extra week of practice to our advantage and play well at our tournament against Cornell.

Photo Day

Earlier today, the volleyball and women's soccer teams had photo day.  Volleyball only had head shots done as they are still waiting for one of the players who lives overseas to get back to campus.  Once she arrives, they will take a team photo along with some group shots.

Big thanks to Mike Baker from C.M. Baker Photography (cmbaker.com) for coming out and getting these shots done.  I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Throughout the shoot, the girls tried to distract and entertain those who were getting their photos taken.
